Nicolas Burkhardt

Prof. Dr. Burkhardt teaches the subjects Innovation, Change and Leadership. He is the founder and managing director of Kopfspringer GmbH, a strategic consulting firm focusing on business model innovation, digitization and transformation processes.

Worth knowing

He is an author, industry insider of the XING platform and a sought-after keynote speaker at various conferences and business forums. From 2008-2012, Prof. Burkhardt dedicated himself to “Lebenshilfe für Afrika” and pushed for the establishment of a school orphan village in Monduli, Tanzania. He is co-initiator and member of the jury of the Wirtschaftswoche Quantum Leap Award, the HR-Garage and the RoundTable Innovation Management.

During his many years in the industry, he was responsible for setting up various innovation units in various internationally operating companies. During his last station in a DAX-listed company, he and his team were awarded the prize for Digital Transformation in Large Companies by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Prof. Dr. Burkhardt completed his broad academic education in Germany, Iceland and Switzerland and most recently in the renowned MBA program at Henley Business School in the UK. He is an avid extreme sportsman and lives with his family in Düsseldorf.

Burkhardt, van Aerssen and Buchholz got to know and appreciate each other in a joint innovation project at a DAX company. For many years, they have maintained a close exchange on the subject of innovation. They work together on lectures and tools.

Most recently, the “Innovation Performance Radar” was created through this cooperation. With this tool, the degree of innovation capability of a team or an organization can be measured.
